Use case · Commercial lending

Lend to the business after you’ve met its history.

Financial statements show a borrower at its best. We investigate the business and the principals behind it: prior bankruptcies, liens, judgments and the companies that came before this one.

What goes wrong without it

What a credit file can miss.

  • Creditors already in line

UCC filings and tax liens that give someone else a prior claim on the collateral you are counting on.

  • A record of walking away

Prior business bankruptcies and judgments behind the same principals, under other company names.

  • Compliance exposure

Sanctions links or regulatory actions that a lender cannot carry on its books.

What we check

The searches that matter most before you lend.

Every lending case runs the full package on the borrower and each principal. These are the searches that most often change a credit decision on a business.

See all 28 searches →
  • Federal tax liens · State tax liens · UCC liens

Federal and state tax liens and secured creditors with a claim on the business’s assets.

  • Federal bankruptcy

Prior business bankruptcies by the borrower or companies its principals ran.

  • County civil · Federal district civil

Judgments, collection suits and contract disputes involving the business or its owners.

  • Business history (SOS, D&B)

Entity standing, prior companies and the officer roles behind the borrower.

  • OFAC and global sanctions

Sanctions exposure for the business and every principal, before funds move.

  • Business indicators

Signals about the business’s footprint and operations that the application doesn’t show.

What a finding looks like

Graded, sourced and matched to the right person.

Each finding tells you what happened, how serious it is and how we know it’s the same person, with the record attached for your file.

Questions

Commercial lending diligence, answered.

Is this a consumer credit check?

No. We investigate businesses and the people who own and run them, from public records. We don’t pull credit reports, and our reports are not for credit decisions about individuals.

Can we run every application through it?

Yes. Cases can be opened one at a time or several at once, and each one tracks its own status in the portal.

Do you cover borrowers with foreign owners?

Yes. We cover 100+ countries through in-country partners. International work is quoted per jurisdiction.
